The Company


Desarrollos Alimentarios, S.A. was founded in 1978, and started its activity in the town of Azuqueca de Henares, in the province of Guadalajara (Spain).

With an innovating character at that time, we began this project with the goal of producing breadcrumbs with industrial and automated processes.

These products have been commercialized under our own brand called Frumen since then. We offer the highest quality products with strict process control as we keep up with the sector requirements and meet the demands of traditional and modern cuisine.

After 40 years producing the best quality breadcrumbs for household consumption, HoReCa, and food industry, Frumen have become the leading breadcrumbs in the food industry in Spain.



Frumen is quality assurance and the first company in Spain to manufacture breadcrumbs from bread made for that only purpose. This assures the innocuousness of our products. The quality and food safety are the key of our business  by subjecting all our processes to rigorous food quality controls in accordance with the BRC standard, which is one of the most demanding food safety standards worldwide.

The commitment of our human team and our work philosophy, based on the ambition of work rightly, have made possible to become the best one in quality, food safety, customer service, and innovation.
To innovate is to create even before the need appears and this has been Frumen’s commitment since its beginning: to create products that anticipate the market’s tendency.

The effort of our staff, a continuous upgrading of production equipment, and a solid investment in R&D&I has made us a company with innovative tradition. A tradition that has lasted forty-five years and led us to be pioneers in the industry in several occasions.
